   D
omesday Book is a photopoem for the Millennium. It combines poetry, photomontage, photography and drawing in an attempt to find a new form for the photographic book. The narrator is a wandering figure who arrives at the Millennium Dome as it is still under construction. Caught in the flash of security lights, the narrator, in a fragmentary and hallucinatory fashion, flicks through images of the twentieth century as though seeing them projected onto a screen.

'A master of the medium of photomontage.'
   John Berger

'In this fine book, poetry and images work their graphic truth in tension with one another, juxtaposed against the vanities and aesthetic impoverishment of the Millennium Dome. For these are our millennium's contrasts; wealth and poverty, consumption and starvation.'
Ken Livingstone MP, Mayor of London

'These highly politicised visual fictions, with their demonology succinctly in place, take their audience beyond the real, beyond the modern even, to a dark and dour fantasy of an approaching millennium.'
   Val Williams
